About the Opportunity
ZipStaff is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager – Salesforce to lead high-priority IT application rationalization and modernization initiatives for a major national transportation organization in Washington, DC.
You will own a critical portfolio of Safety and Asset & Product Protection (APD) applications and drive multi-year roadmaps and technical consolidation. This role is the bridge between IT leadership, platform architects, and operational business units to deliver Salesforce integrations, legacy system sunsetting, and optimized digital workflows.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex Salesforce application rationalization, consolidation, and modernization projects within the Safety and APD technology portfolio.
- Partner with Digital Technology / Safety & Security leadership to define project scopes, governance, budget allocations, and delivery milestones for FY27 and beyond.
- Serve as the primary liaison between executive leadership, cross-functional business teams, and technical delivery partners.
- Oversee technical transition, data migration strategy, and change management required to sunset legacy tools into unified Salesforce solutions.
- Proactively identify bottlenecks, manage dependencies across enterprise IT, and maintain quality and compliance standards.
- Drive stakeholder alignment so system requirements map to strategic organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of IT Project Management experience with demonstrated hands-on exposure to Salesforce platform architecture, migrations, and application consolidations.
- Proven track record managing enterprise application rationalization, system decommissioning, or tech-stack optimization initiatives.
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall project management frameworks.
- Exceptional executive presentation, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills in complex corporate or public-sector environments.
- Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background working with Safety, Security, Asset Protection, or Risk Management technology business units.
- PMP certification.
- Salesforce Certified Administrator and/or Salesforce Project Manager credentials.
- Prior transportation, rail, or large public-sector delivery experience.
