About the Opportunity
ZipStaff is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead enterprise storage and virtualization for a major academic medical center in Dallas.
You will be the SME for Dell PowerScale (Isilon) and enterprise SAN, including Fiber Channel fabric, VMware storage integration, and backup/recovery. General Windows or VMware admins without PowerScale / SAN depth will not be a fit. Must be local to Dallas — 3 days per week on-site.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as SME for Isilon / PowerScale clusters: capacity, performance, and Zero Trust security.
- Manage enterprise SAN arrays: provisioning, LUN masking, and hardware lifecycle.
- Maintain the Fiber Channel fabric: switch config, zoning, and physical-layer troubleshooting.
- Provide secondary VMware administration: multipathing and datastore optimization.
- Oversee backup and recovery to meet RTO/RPO.
- Produce capacity and health reports for planning and budgeting
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years enterprise storage / infrastructure engineering.
- Deep hands-on OneFS, Isilon / PowerScale, and enterprise SAN arrays.
- Hands-on Brocade (or equivalent) FC switches and complex zoning.
- vSphere / ESXi experience focused on storage multipathing and datastores.
- Experience producing storage capacity and health reporting.
- Ability to work hybrid in Dallas (3 days on-site at 3000 Pegasus Park Dr).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rubrik or similar Zero Trust data-protection platforms.
- Automation / scripting for storage provisioning.
- Dell EMC Specialist and/or VCP.
