Location: Washington, DC (On-site)
Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff — No C2C or 1099)

About the Opportunity
ZipStaff is seeking a Senior SOAR Automation Engineer for the Cyber Advisory Governance and Enablement group at a major transportation organization.

You will work with a Lead SOAR Architect to build automated playbooks, custom widgets, and API integrations in the Swimlane platform. The goal is a single-pane-of-glass view across the security stack and streamlined GRC workflows. This is a development and automation seat, not a pure SOC or incident-response role.

What You’ll Do:
  • Design, build, and optimize automated playbooks, workflows, custom widgets, and user interfaces in Swimlane.
  • Develop custom API connectors and data pipelines to integrate Swimlane with security tools, ServiceNow, CMDBs, and cloud environments.
  • Streamline risk triage, escalation, and compliance workflows; normalize datasets; and implement error handling, logging, and monitoring.
  • Conduct technical discovery and translate business and security needs into user stories, specifications, and functional playbooks.
  • Maintain change controls, data validation standards, and technical documentation for audit and compliance.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years hands-on experience developing and deploying automated SOAR playbooks.
  • Strong preferred expertise in Swimlane (Splunk SOAR or Microsoft Sentinel considered with transferable development skills).
  • Proven background in workflow engineering, software development, or API integrations — not a pure SOC or IR background.
  • Hands-on with Python, REST APIs, and JSON.
  • Experience building custom forms, dashboards, reporting, and dataset enrichment pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, M365), ticketing systems, and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders and ability to work with architects and developers in Agile.
  • Able to work on-site in Washington, DC.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct Swimlane development experience.
  • GRC or compliance automation.
  • Transportation or large enterprise security environments.

Benefits:
  • Health Insurance.
  • Dental Insurance.
  • Vision Insurance.
  • 401(k) + 401(k) matching.
  • Paid time off.
  • Referral Program.
