Job Title: Senior SDET – Trade Management
Location: Westlake, TX (On-site)
Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff)
About the Opportunity
ZipStaff is seeking a Senior SDET to architect and build a new common automation platform for a leading financial services organization in Westlake, TX.
You will deliver a unified, scalable end-to-end automation engine supporting 13+ modernization teams. This is a greenfield framework role covering UI and API automation for institutional trade and order-management workflows — not a manual QA or script-maintenance role.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect and build a brand-new unified Java and TypeScript automation platform from the ground up.
- Support both UI automation (Playwright / Selenium) and API testing across 13+ teams.
- Establish modern CI/CD patterns in Jenkins and use GitHub Copilot to accelerate framework construction and test authoring.
- Automate core order-lifecycle workflows: Create → Modify → Cancel → Execute.
- Validate institutional OMS order rules, post-trade processing, downstream clearing/settlement integrations, and regulatory reporting platforms.
- Design and execute API-driven automated tests (REST / SOAP) for workflows routed through Director-pattern architectures.
- Perform state comparison and data validation across coexisting legacy systems (Mainframe / DB2 via SOAP) and modern cloud / microservice platforms.
- Enhance test reporting dashboards for coverage, execution stability, and business-capability regression metrics across trading areas.
Required Qualifications:
- 7–8+ years of hands-on test automation / SDET experience, including framework design (not script-only backgrounds).
- Strong programming skills in Java and TypeScript.
- Advanced experience with Playwright and/or Selenium for UI automation.
- Hands-on API automation with REST and SOAP, including Cucumber / BDD.
- Experience building or modernizing a shared automation platform used by multiple teams.
- Hands-on Jenkins CI/CD experience.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot (or similar) in a daily engineering workflow.
- Ability to work on-site in Westlake, TX.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Institutional trading, OMS, order lifecycle, post-trade, clearing/settlement, or regulatory reporting experience.
- Experience validating across legacy mainframe / DB2 SOAP services and modern microservices.
- Experience with test reporting dashboards and quality metrics at scale.
