Job Title: Senior Java Full Stack Engineer – AWS
Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid / On-site)
Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff — No C2C or 1099)

About the Opportunity:
ZipStaff is seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, REST APIs, GraphQL, Microservices, and CI/CD for a global technology services firm.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience developing, integrating, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications and be comfortable working in a hybrid customer-facing environment. This is a 6-month engagement with on-site interview required.

What You'll Do:
  • Design and develop modern Angular/TypeScript applications.
  • Build Java/Spring Boot and Node.js APIs and microservices.
  • Develop and integrate REST and GraphQL services.
  • Design and support AWS-based distributed workflows.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Perform unit, integration, and contract testing.
  • Troubleshoot application and cloud production issues.
  • Support existing Java applications while contributing to modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 21 & Spring Boot 3.
  • Experience with Angular 18, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, GraphQL, and OpenAPI.
  • Experience with microservices and distributed/event-driven architecture.
  • Strong AWS experience, including AWS Lambda, Step Functions, ECS/Fargate, EventBridge, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Hands-on with JPA/Hibernate and SQL.
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0/OIDC, IAM, and API security.
  • Experience with Docker and CI/CD.
  • Strong debugging and production-support experience.
  • Ability to work hybrid/on-site in Plano, TX (on-site interview required).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with RxJS, Angular Material, AG Grid, and Module Federation.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Helm.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and MSAL.
  • Experience with Oracle and DynamoDB.
  • Exposure to GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted development.
  • Background with legacy Java technologies such as Struts 2, JNDI, or WAR/EAR.
  • Automotive industry experience.
