About the Opportunity:
ZipStaff is seeking a high-performing Senior Full-Stack Developer to lead the design, development, and modernization of scalable enterprise applications for a major national transportation organization in the Washington, DC area.
In this role, you will build responsive front-end interfaces with Angular and server-side logic with Java Spring Boot microservices, while architecting cloud-native solutions on AWS and driving modern CI/CD and event-driven practices.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect, build, and maintain front-end web applications using Angular, ensuring high performance, accessibility, and modern UI practices.
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Deploy, manage, and monitor cloud-native infrastructure and serverless workloads on AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EventBridge, VPC, SQS, SNS).
- Establish and refine CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline to ensure automated testing and seamless deployments.
- Integrate observability, performance monitoring, and secure key management using tools such as Dynatrace and AWS Secrets Manager.
- Collaborate with cross-functional architecture and DevOps teams to drive event-driven application architectures and enterprise cloud best practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and modern development practices within the team.
Required Qualifications:
- 7–8+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
- High proficiency in Angular (HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript) for modern front-end development.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot microservices and RESTful API development.
- Hands-on experience with core AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, VPC, EventBridge, and Secrets Manager.
- Hands-on experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline).
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and cloud-native design principles.
- Experience with Git/GitHub and modern development workflows.
- Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python in a full-stack or backend context.
- Familiarity with Dynatrace or similar observability platforms.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted development tools.
- Exposure to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar content platforms.
- Experience with Mobile/Ionic frameworks.
- Prior experience in transportation, government, or large enterprise environments.
