Job Title: Principal Maximo Solutions Architect & Technical Program Manager.
Location: Washington, DC (On-site).
Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff — No C2C or 1099).
About the Opportunity:
ZipStaff is seeking a Principal Maximo Solutions Architect and Technical Program Manager to lead Enterprise Asset Management transformation at a major passenger-rail organization.
You will set Maximo / MAS architecture and run the multi-workstream program across engineering, cloud, security, and integration. This is a dual architecture and delivery seat — not a Maximo configurator role and not a non-technical PMO role.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and govern multi-tier architectures across application, integration, database, and cloud.
- Challenge designs through the SDLC so debt stays low and the platform stays maintainable.
- Hold solutions to enterprise architecture, security, operational readiness, and regulatory standards.
- Escalate and drive root-cause on high-priority production issues.
- Own end-to-end delivery of multi-workstream technical programs.
- Maintain the integrated roadmap: milestones, resources, dependencies, and risk.
- Run technical decision forums and executive status on progress, risk, and scope tradeoffs.
- Lead modernization from Maximo 7.6.x to MAS, including cloud migration.
- Oversee integrations with SAP and related enterprise systems.
Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years in IBM Maximo / Enterprise Asset Management, including solution architecture and technical program leadership.
- Maximo from v6.x through MAS 9: Asset, Work, Inventory, Procurement, Preventive Maintenance, Mobile, Health, Monitor, Predict, and the Maximo Integration Framework.
- Integrations with SAP or SAP S/4HANA, and at least one of PeopleSoft, Oracle Applications, Ariba, Supplier Master, REST, JMS, XML, or Ignition.
- A Maximo-to-MAS migration or cloud modernization on AWS, OpenShift / ROSA, or Amazon EKS.
- Database work across Oracle, DB2, or SQL Server, and SAML authentication.
- Cloud patterns, disaster recovery, CI/CD, performance tuning, and architectural governance.
- Able to brief non-technical executives and hold cross-team delivery to milestones.
- Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IBM Certified Deployment Professional (Maximo / MAS).
- AWS, OpenShift, or PMP / Agile certification.
- Java, J2EE, Jython, JavaScript, Python, SQL, Kubernetes, OpenShift, ServiceNow.
Benefits:
- Health Insurance.
- Dental Insurance.
- Vision Insurance.
- 401(k) + 401(k) matching.
- Paid time off.
- Referral Program.
