Job Title: Lead Full-Stack Application Developer (.NET & Azure)

About the Opportunity
ZipStaff is seeking a highly experienced Lead Full-Stack Application Developer to provide hands-on technical leadership and end-to-end ownership of Azure software development within autonomous microservices engineering scrum teams at a leading financial technology organization.
This is a senior technical leadership role focused on building resilient, high-quality software in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment. You will drive shift-left CI/CD practices, enforce rigorous quality and security standards, mentor team members, and collaborate across multi-geographic engineering units while maintaining absolute environmental parity.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide hands-on technical expertise and end-to-end ownership of Azure software development tasks within distributed scrum teams.
- Lead and guide application teams in adopting mature shift-left continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
- Mentor, upskill, and enable team members to successfully adopt modern CI/CD and quality practices.
- Translate complex software requirements into structured Agile user stories, tasks, and reference documentation.
- Build and deploy enterprise APIs, websites, and related software into the Microsoft Azure cloud.
- Ensure all local unit tests and automated regression tests pass; fully remediate critical, high, and medium findings from Sonatype and Fortify code scanning tools prior to deployment.
- Author BDD acceptance criteria using Gherkin syntax (Given-When-Then) in collaboration with Product Owners and Quality leads; check feature files into version control before writing application code.
- Practice fail-first / TDD methodology and maintain rapid Red-to-Green cycle velocity.
- Implement dynamic feature management using conditional feature flags to protect shared environments and prevent staging drift.
- Own performance tuning, resiliency, and scaling validation using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Support decoupled architecture through API Contract Testing and Service Virtualization in the DEV environment.
- Execute zero-day production validation via Dark Launches with precise targeting filters and rapid rollback capability.
- Focus on detailed technical documentation and knowledge sharing; maintain zero escaped defects to Integration environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 10–12 years of proven experience as a developer building, configuring, and deploying enterprise APIs, websites, and software into the Microsoft Azure cloud.
- Demonstrated experience guiding and leading application teams to adopt shift-left CI/CD workflows.
- Expert proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and modern frameworks such as Angular.
- Strong hands-on experience with Git, Terraform, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
- Proven experience securing applications using Fortify and Sonatype code scanning tools.
- Experience with BDD/Gherkin, TDD practices, feature flags, and automated testing frameworks.
- Strong ability to interact effectively with clients and leadership, adapting communication for technical or business audiences.
- Ability to work on-site in Omaha, NE.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Azure Government Cloud environments.
- Awareness of FedRAMP, FISMA, and Zero Trust Architecture.
- Experience working in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) ecosystem.
- Prior experience in financial technology, payments, or highly regulated environments.
