Summary:
This position performs all maintenance duties in the facility, such as repair and maintenance of machinery, troubleshooting equipment, building maintenance, and preventative maintenance of equipment. The position must be able to take initiative to get things done not wait for direction
from Supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned).
- Preventive maintenance of Molding and Lining machines as assigned.
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues with equipment.
- Maintenance of auxiliary equipment, such as, water pumps, sand filters, con-air material systems, vacuum pumps, plant lighting, hydraulic cylinder repairs, hydraulic valve repairs.
- Maintenance of other equipment such as, conveyors, forklifts, material elevators, and personnel lifts.
- Operate hand tools and Maintenance shop machine tools, as needed and trained.
- Fabrication of mechanical equipment and parts to be used in the facility.
- Fabrication, repair and replacement of machine guarding.
- Installation and relocation of equipment within the facility.
- Repair hydraulic leaks.
- Repair and/or replace belts, conveyors, blow tubing etc.
- Maintenance and repair of grinders (non-electrical).
- Verification of no-current using approved Fluke meter and appropriate PPE.
- Change resin silos feeding Surge Bin/Molding, as needed.
- Maintain/PM HVAC equipment, cooling towers, chillers, and air compressors.
- Facilities repair and maintenance such as dock plate cleaning and repair, Surge
- Bin filter cleaning, removing and replacing hydraulic oil in molding presses, and other duties as assigned.
- Follow all safety procedures while performing tasks such as Hot Work, Confined Space, LOTO, etc.
- Complete Work Orders and document work (electronic or hard copy)
- Promote plant goals such as Safety/Housekeeping, Quality, ISO, and GMP.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and twelve months related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience of at least twenty-four months.
Qualifications:
- Must have basic mechanical and hydraulic aptitude.
- The ability to use one or more of the following: power hand tools, lathe, milling machine, welding equipment, saws/band saws, grinding wheels.
- Ability to obtain a forklift license.

- Noise exposure over 90 decibels.
- Exposed to moving machinery, mechanical parts, objects overhead, and objects on the shop floor.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles or chemicals that could cause irritation of the eyes and skin.
- Exposure to sharp objects, instruments and power tools.
- Exposure to electrical circuits, electrical shock or static electricity.
- Possible exposure to hot or abrasive surfaces.
PPE and GMP Requirements while on shop floor:
- PPE: Company provided ear plugs or ear muffs. Company approved safety glasses. Hard hat. Steel-toe/safety shoes.
- Cotton clothing. Arc-rated PPE if required for the task.
- GMP: long sleeves, long pants, hairnet, beard net, if applicable.
- This applies to all areas of the shop floor (Manufacturing, Warehouse, Maintenance and Tool Room.).
