About the Opportunity:
ZipStaff is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop, install, and maintain equipment used to monitor and control complex engineering systems and processes for a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.
ZipStaff is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop, install, and maintain equipment used to monitor and control complex engineering systems and processes for a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.
Working within the autonomy validation and technology development group, this role focuses heavily on test planning, execution, and troubleshooting complex autonomous systems. The assignment runs from November 16, 2026 through November 15, 2028.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, install, and maintain equipment used to monitor and control complex engineering systems and processes.
- Support test planning, execution, and troubleshooting for complex autonomous systems.
- Apply knowledge of electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
- Test, evaluate, and calibrate hardware and control products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional support and product teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in controls engineering, electrical design, or automated systems.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
- Experience in testing, evaluating, and calibrating hardware and control products.
- Self-directed, quality-focused approach with strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work remotely supporting the Yucca, AZ area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Autonomy validation experience or background in autonomous engineering systems.
- Hands-on experience with advanced data analysis tools for complex troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with support and product teams.
- Continuous learning mindset in a technology development environment.
