About the Opportunity:
ZipStaff is seeking a Backend Java / Software Engineer to support enterprise application and digital-platform delivery for a large enterprise organization.
You will troubleshoot and enhance production code in Java and Python, work in DevOps / CI/CD workflows, and use GenAI coding tools. The role also touches web content platforms, SSO, and operational support, including a standard on-call rotation. This is an on-site role in Richardson, TX.
What You’ll Do:
- Troubleshoot and enhance production code using Java, Python, and scripting.
- Build and improve services as part of a full-stack landscape (Java, JavaScript, React or Angular, Python).
- Work in DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins and Bitbucket pipelines.
- Use GenAI engineering tools such as Kiro and Amazon Q to accelerate development and debugging.
- Analyze system architecture and contribute to design planning.
- Support enterprise web / content platforms and related delivery (CMS, CDN, monitoring, DNS, TLS, REST APIs, caching).
- Collaborate with business partners (including marketing, HR, legal, and compliance) and manage vendor or internal-engineering dependencies.
- Participate in a standard on-call rotation (one shift / weekend every 4–5 weeks).
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering production systems. (Source listed 2+ years; 5+ is the practical bar for this mix of Java, Python, DevOps, on-call, and platform work.).
- Strong hands-on Java / J2EE development and troubleshooting
- Hands-on Python scripting / automation.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins.
- Exposure to GenAI coding tools (Kiro, Amazon Q, or equivalent).
- Full-stack proficiency across Java, JavaScript, Python, and React or Angular.
- Experience with AWS.
- Ability to analyze architecture and contribute to design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Richardson, TX.
- Ability to participate in on-call (one shift / weekend every 4–5 weeks).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enterprise CMS / web content platforms (Acquia, Sitecore, Drupal, or similar).
- Ping / SSO, Bitbucket pipelines, CDN (Cloudflare), website monitoring (New Relic).
- Solid understanding of DNS, TLS certificates, REST APIs, and caching strategies.
- Experience working with marketing, HR, legal, or compliance stakeholders.
