About the Opportunity

ZipStaff is seeking an experienced Advanced Analytics / Data Scientist to generate actionable insights and support data-driven decision making for a major energy and utilities organization.

In this role, you will analyze structured and unstructured data, develop reports and dashboards, apply statistical methods, and build or support machine learning / AI solutions that deliver measurable business value. You will work closely with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

Design, develop, and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
Generate reports, regular datasets, and information resources for end users using system tools, database, and data warehouse queries and scripts.
Create specifications for reports based on business requests.
Analyze and model data to understand complex business issues and provide insight to decision makers.
Integrate data from multiple sources to produce required data elements.
Program and maintain reports, information dashboards, data generators, canned reports, and other end-user information portals.
Use advanced mathematical and statistical concepts to analyze data, identify trends, and interpret patterns in datasets.
Support complex business problems using unstructured data from internal and external sources.
Build or define machine learning / Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions that create value for the business.
Apply advanced analytics techniques on large and unstructured data sets.
Design approaches for unstructured data, defining how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed.
Conduct exploratory data analysis from complex data sources and build key data sets.
Work closely with data analysts and data engineers to review data pipelines and identify optimization opportunities.
Translate complex business requirements into analytics and data science solutions aligned to business goals.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on experience in advanced analytics, data science, or related analytical roles.
Strong experience generating reports, dashboards, and datasets from databases or data warehouses.
Proven ability to analyze structured and unstructured data and deliver actionable insights to decision makers.
Solid statistical and mathematical analysis skills with experience identifying trends and patterns.
Experience integrating data from multiple sources.
Exposure to building or supporting machine learning / AI solutions.
Ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
Experience collaborating with data analysts and/or data engineers.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex data sets.
Ability to work on-site in St. Louis, MO.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in energy, utilities, or regulated industries.
Hands-on experience with statistical programming and analytics tools.
Experience working with unstructured or semi-structured data.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights to business stakeholders.
